Not only are we experts at procuring and managing golf clubs’ energy needs, but we now
have also expanded the buying group to include other sports clubs. This increases our
buying power with suppliers, driving the Energy Club member’s costs down. We now have
relationships with the LTA, RFU and National Gymnastic Governing Bodies. This gives your
clubs the opportunity to buy together with potentially thousands of clubs, making the GMG
Energy Club the go to buying group for all your energy procurement needs.
The first half of 2025 has seen a more stable and secure market, with suppliers being more
confident in future pricing. However, global geopolitcal unrest and Net Zero commitments,
this has cause predictive future pricing to rise.
Wholesale pricing is becoming less significant to club’s energy costs, with the industry and
government taxes and levies becoming the predominant percentage of the annual costs. The
GMG Energy Club’s recommendation is to secure for the foreseeable future, without the risk
of a partially passthrough tariff.
The ever changing energy market can be an overwhelming task to undertake for many clubs,
with there not being enough hours in the day to deal with the general day to day issues, let
alone ringing over 20 supplies for a quote. The GMG Energy Club work with over 24
suppliers, meaning we can give clubs an accurate market insight and cost.
Not only can we assist with your club’s procurement needs, but we are also promoting a
carbon awareness campaign.
Any club who uses the GMG Energy Club will also receive a complimentary Scope 1 and 2
carbon assessment (example attached) This will provide your club an idea of it’s carbon
output and a first step on the net zero journey. All we require are copies of your recent bills
and estimated annual fuel consumption and we will produce a bespoke report for you to add
to your sustainability file! We also offer a more in depth scope 3 and 4 assessment via one of
our partners.
Speaking to clubs on a daily basis the topic that is high up on everyone’s agenda is water
resilience….. We are pleased to announce we have teamed up with Tony Hanson (CIWFM,
AMICE & PIEMA) from ESI who currently works with GCMA, UK Golf Federation and CMAE to
host a 20 minute webinar later this month 26th June 2pm on this very topic, Water Resilience
- A Practical Guide for General Managers. Anyone who registers for the webinar will receive
a free Water Resilience Plan template.
The UK has committed to become net-zero by 2050, and the general consensus is that there
will be pressure on businesses to become net-zero making the governments job easier, with
potential taxes/tax reductions being introduced to encourage people to do so.
At the GMG Energy Club, we offer a wide array of energy reduction methods, these will not
only help meet green targets, but also reduce the club’s consumption and therefore
reducing energy bills. Whether your club is interested in a small or large investment, we
offer a free consultation call to discuss the options going forward. These solutions range
from LED, Solar PV to good practice advise. All we require is a recent energy invoice and we
can advise on potential solutions that may be of interest.
